Two Inpatient Coder I positions available with this well-respected healthcare organization! Individuals will be responsible for accurate assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes; grouping codes for payment, impacting Severity of Illness and Risk of Mortality; participating in DRG reconciliation; querying providers for clarification, ensuring optimal reimbursement; maintaining compliance with coding regulations; providing information on coding practices and regulations to healthcare staff; reviewing and abstracting documentation; addressing feedback from Auditor; reviewing PWC SMART edits; researching databases for validation; and utilizing various software for compiling and validating medical information. 100% remote in approved states. Requirements include:
• 2 years’ IP coding experience
• AHIMA and/or AAPC certification
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding
• Use of Epic, Optum CAC, MS Office, and other software
